Altura Furniture

For more than 20 years, Altura Furniture has been designing and manufacturing innovative, exquisitely crafted contemporary wood furniture. The company was founded in 1983, and today it operates in its own state-of-the-art workshop in Portland, Oregon.

Partners, Jeff Behnke and Roland Zehetbauer value the innate satisfaction of participating in the entire product cycle, from sketching concepts to producing finished goods.

Over the years, Behnke and Zehetbauer have developed a solution-based design approach. They begin with functional considerations, developing furniture that's strategically sound and available in a wide variety of sizes and configurations to enhance daily life. They draw on a an enormous historical repetroire of styles, finishes and techniques while freely cultivating the surprises of inspiration, lending a clever and sometimes whimsical aspect to their work.
